Please keep in mind that as the nails get wider they also get longer, so bigger sizes will be longer than smaller sizes, therefore the lengths can look different on each hand.

How do I measure my nails?

This is always the most common question asked since it's likely you've never had to do this before! But don't worry, it's not hard and you probably have everything you need for it at home already.

There are two methods, the first one is using a soft measuring tape and measuring across the width of each nail.

If you don't have a soft measuring tape, then that's ok, you'll just need some regular masking tape, a pen or pencil, and a ruler:

Please measure carefully as there are no returns/refunds/exchanges due to hygiene reasons.

TIP:

Make sure you're measuring across the widest part of your nail - this is usually the centre of the nail bed.

How do I apply press on nails?

All nail orders are sent with an application pack which includes everything you'll need to apply: a cuticle pusher, nail buffer, 2 alcohol wipes, set of adhesive tabs, and liquid glue.

With nail adhesive tabs

Optional:

Before starting, gently push your cuticles back with the flat side of the cuticle pusher. Make sure not to press too hard.

Step 1:

Gently buff clean nails to remove the shine.

Step 2:

Wipe to clean off the dust and natural oils with alcohol wipes or acetone. Try not to touch your nails after this step because the oil from your fingertips will get on them again.

Step 3:

Stick the adhesive tabs to each of your natural nails, pressing down firmly after you attach each one. Apply pressure when pressing down to make sure there are no air bubbles and the tabs are stuck to your nails well. For very flat nails you can also apply 2 sticky tabs on top of each other for an extra cushioned base, so the nails adhere better (take the film off from the top of the first tab before you apply the second).

Step 4:

Remove the film from the top of the adhesive tabs.

Step 5:

Carefully apply the fake nails, one by one, and press down very firmly, holding each for 20 seconds to ensure a strong bond with your natural nails.

Step 6:

Avoid applying cream or getting your hands wet for the first hour after application.

TIP:

Try not to keep your hands in hot water for too long while wearing the nails as this will soften the glue. And remember - your nails are jewels, not tools! Don't be too hard on them, avoid using them to open cans, scratch off tape to open boxes, etc. Also don't get any acetone on them as this can damage the design.

With liquid glue

Step 3:

Place a drop of glue on your natural nail and apply the press on nail, holding down firmly for 20 seconds to ensure it has bonded well.

Step 4:

Repeat with each nail.

Step 5:

Avoid applying cream or getting your hands wet for the first hour after application.

TIP:

Try not to keep your hands in hot water for too long while wearing the nails as this will soften the glue. And remember - your nails are jewels, not tools! Don't be too hard on them, avoid using them to open cans, scratch off tape to open boxes, etc. Also don't get any acetone on them as this can damage the design.

How do I remove press on nails?

Soak your hands in warm soapy water. You can also apply some cuticle oil (other types of oil work too, like coconut oil, etc); try to apply it around and under the press on nail. Once the glue has started to soften, gently wiggle the press on nail from side to side (be careful not to pull it straight off as this can damage your natural nails) until it releases. When using liquid glue you may need to use the cuticle pusher to gentle wedge onto the sides under the press on nail. Be very careful when doing this to avoid damaging your natural nails. Lightly buff your natural nails if any glue remains. Remove as much glue residue as possible from the back of the press on nails (the liquid glue may be harder to remove without damaging the nail, using the cuticle pusher to scrape it can be helpful).

How long do press on nails stay attached?

When using the nail tabs the press on nails can stay on for 1-2 days at a time. This option is great for events since they're quick and easy to apply and remove. The liquid glue will hold for longer, for about 1 week, however they're a bit more difficult to remove since the glue is stronger. The time also varies depending on how well the nails were attached, and also the lifestyle and activities of the wearer. Other factors can also affect the wear time, like the shape and length of your natural nails (how much of a curve the surface of your nail has) which could impact how much surface area adheres to the press ons, unfortunately that's not really something that you can alter! But it does mean that wear time can vary from person to person.

Can I reuse my press on nails?

When using the nail tabs it's possible to reuse the nails, if they are worn and removed carefully. Even though the nails are painted with layers of gel and are very sturdy, there could still be some general wear and tear on the nails after use. If using the liquid glue it's less likely for the press ons to be reusable since the dried glue can damage the nails and build up underneath the press on, making it harder to glue on again. You can try to gently remove the dried glue on the press ons with a cuticle pusher and some warm soapy water, but they're not guaranteed to be as reusable, especially the transparent designs in which the dried glue underneath may be seen from above.

Can I cut/file my press on nails?

Unfortunately, no. Because the nails are hand painted any filing or cutting could damage the design.

How do I apply nail decals?

Step 1:

Paint your nails with a white or light coloured base.

Step 2:

Cut out the decals you'd like to use.

Step 3:

Dip the decals (one at a time) into some water for about 10 seconds. Using a tweezer helps when handling them since they're quite small.

Step 4:

Take them out of the water and gently slide the decal off the backing paper. If it doesn't come off easily, leave it in the water for a couple more seconds.

Step 5:

Gently dab off excess water from the decal onto a tissue and apply onto your nail. If you're having trouble getting the decal to stick try applying it while the base nail polish is still slightly tacky, or apply a top coat onto your nails and stick the decals onto it while it's still wet. Another option is to use some nail foil glue, applying the decals once it's dry.

Step 6:

Seal nails with a top coat.

NOTE: The decals are different sizes to accomodate for different nail shapes and lengths, they also look more visually interesting when they're of varying sizes. So if some of the images are too large for your nails, you can always trim them to fit.

Are the nail decals stickers? Or real flowers?

Neither, they don't have a sticky backing so they aren't like regular stickers. The floral sets are made from images of real pressed flowers, the actual decal is a picture on a thin film which is much easier to apply onto your nails than real pressed flowers, which are thicker and bigger in size.

Can I apply nail decals onto gel/acrylic nails?

Yes, definitely! They can be applied onto the sticky layer of gel polish or onto uncured clear gel polish, then cured as usual, finished with a top gel.

How long will the decals stay on my nails?

Basically as long as the product that they're applied onto will. So if using regular nail polish, once the nail polish starts to chip, so will the decal. If applied onto gel or acrylic, and sealed in well, then the decals will stay on as long as the product does.

Can I customise a design?

Yes, it just depends on what the customisation is! For example, if you wanted to add gold flake to a set that doesn't already have it, or mix and match a set with different designs on different nails, then we can usually do that. Or if you'd like a different base colour for a nail set, depending on what's available and what the design is, we could do that too - just send me an email (hellojsfrn@gmail.com) and I'll let you know if it's possible! However, customising nail decals isn't currently available, unfortunately.
